On Wednesdays, we’ll introduce the students who make up Year 8 of High School Confidential, powered by Danville Area Community College. Next up: Judah Christian’s Hannah Jackson. Follow her on Instagram (@h.jack06).

Hannah and her classmates are prepping for next week’s Senior Trip to — of all places — Puerto Rico. The itinerary includes ministry work at a Christian school, volunteering at a children’s home as well daily devotionals and workshops. “But we also get the opportunity to explore Puerto Rico, including trips to the beach, visiting downtown Ponce Square and even going snorkeling,” Hannah said.

The adventure puts a bow on an accomplished stay at the Champaign school for Hannah: She’s a volleyball captain, editor of the Judah Newsroom, member of student council and participant in the Godtreks Adventure Club.

Headed to Trinity University in San Antonio, where she plans to major in English, Hannah is carrying on a family tradition with High School Confidential. Older sister Bethany was Judah’s correspondent last year.

“My sister loved doing this each week, and with me wanting to potentially write as a profession, it seemed natural to take it on,” she said.

Favorite part of the role?

“Getting to be so involved in school activities,” she said. ”People are excited to see events being covered in the newspaper, so they tell me things that are happening. I hear a lot of fun stories and experiences. I still have to do some digging myself, but it is really nice to feel a part of everything going on in my high school.”
